Meet the Artist: Jef Wind

Although formally educated in visual arts at San Jose State University, Jef Windy’s creative vision was shaped just as much by Saturday morning cartoons, the imaginative worlds of Sid Krofft and Marty Krofft, the custom culture of Ed Roth, the bold skate art of the 1980s, and the larger-than-life influence of Godzilla.

That influence is unmistakable in his work. Whether it’s sculpture, digital art, disc stamp design, or a painted skate deck, Jef is drawn to exaggeration, humor, and big, bold color. His goal is simple—make people smile, make them laugh, and give them a visual break from the weight of everyday life.

His imagery reflects his passions: disc golf, surfing, creatures, and the energy of life itself—often bending form and pushing visual possibilities to their limits.

When he’s not creating, Jef can be found throwing frisbees, spending time at the beach with his pup, teaching young minds to embrace their creativity, or just enjoying life and not taking it too seriously.
